As the title says do they make a twist for the sportsman? I think I would like that more then the thumb.

 

I think you would end up cranking the bike in a tight spot like a rock climb. There are thumb extensions out there but they come with some trouble too...fellows nipping it in tight steering, etc.

 

i know of a guy who put one on his warrior because he used tomotorcross and thought he would like it better. he used it a short while then went back to the thumb throttle. easier to controll he said.

 

I used to think the twist throttle was the way to go. Ive rode motorcycles for 40 years, and figured it would be way more easy. Well, i tried it...and its much worse. I guess, its because of all the body english, and moving around, that makes it hard to keep a constant setting. I tried it for one ride, which was 10 minutes of fun, and 4 hours of trying to not get hurt. I took it off, and never thought again about using a twist on a quad.
Most of the sportys have a twist throttle made for them, but i havent heard of many made for a ute,

 

Insurance rates will triple the moment they put twist throttles on ATV's and snowmobiles. Not a good idea, like the previous threads.

 

A buddy of mine bought and put one on his predator. He said its one of the stupidist things hes ever done. He rode it for about an hour and took it off and put the thumb back on.
