SPORTSMAN 400 EBS QUESTION????
I have a 2004.5 Sportsman 400 with ebs...When we were riding yesterday the clutch quit upshifting...It seems to stay in low all the time..Any ideas what went wrong...p.s..When you let off the throttle it will almost throw over the handle bars...

SPORTSMAN 400 EBS QUESTION????
Finally found the problem with my clutch...The driven clutch was completly locked up..Loaned it to a friend and being unfamiliar with Polaris never used low when crossing logs, climbing rocks and steep inclines...The helix has very deep groves cut into it and the rollers are shot...I am in the process of doing a complete rebuild...

SPORTSMAN 400 EBS QUESTION????
mountaineer rider
I would highly recommend a rollar secondary if you are going to rebuild. It will cost a little more but it wont fail in the long run. It will give you better upshift and downshift. It has no resistance in the clutch unlike the regular ramp buttons that have alot of resistance.

SPORTSMAN 400 EBS QUESTION????
The 800 has rollers..Just got mine back together...Runs as good if not better then when new..The rollers were shot..the bushings were worn bad...Just remember if you loan your atv with ebs to a non Polaris owner to be sure and downshift to low when rock climbing and crossing logs...Or be ready to spend about 300.00 bucks..
