Don't seem to be many Polaris in Oz but we DO have an agent way up here in Cairns

but he cant tell me the model of my ATV - either Magnum or Explorer apparently??? - the Magnum parts catalog [1995] seems to be 99% the same as my bike so I am thinking it is a Magnum but a few mods were made in 1995

I really need to know to be able to order parts, so any suggestions welcome

it is 1994 model and is 400 cc and 4 X 4 and that's about all I know of it

Please take a look at the initial JAlbum below [I will post more] and see if you recognise it as it WAS when I bought it [but sure don't look like that anymore!!]

thanks for all the replies

so "gen 2" is a nothing? is not an explorer OR magnum?

but you are correct with parts catalogue as that one shows the steering arm as it is on my atv with one tie rod ON TOP of the other, whereas the magnum one I was using has them SIDE BY SIDE

also I dont think I can afford my dealer as he wants an arm and leg for parts eg $45 for the rubber CV boot, whereas I can get one for $9 from my local Made in China/globalised Auto Cheap Outlet

That is a 94 400L it is a basic 4x4 and most parts from 94 -97 Explorer,Sportsman400 and some magnum (chassi parts)will interchange.
Try eby for some stuff.

yeah I was thinking EBay [as long as its not a heavy part and has to come from USA/Canada]

so far I have not needed to buy any polaris specific part, and hope I never will

the main recent issue is that the A frames rusted through completely and polaris wanted $250 each for new ones, so a local machine shop made some stainless steel ones up for me at only $180 for BOTH

I hope to head up to the beach again tomorrow [I have a camper up there in the Daintree River area, near Port Douglas] to do the final bits like alignment to get the atv back "on the road" again

and thats the other issue, it lives there and I dont have a "trailer" to get it to any mechanics so either I fix any problems myself or they remain unfixed

most of the locals there drive Yamaha or Honda - never seen another polaris except the new ones at the dealer here in Cairns

When you find a part on ebay double check it for your application at www.partsland.com.
You have a 1994 400L or Explorer so check the numbers with other yrs up to 1997 with the models mentioned earlier.
