I have a 2000 polsris sportsman 500 HO that has not been run for a couple months, I recently got it out and now the speedometer, odometer, and 4wd do not work. I can not figure out what could have happened to make this happen. I asked to dealer in our area, and they told me to check a couple of fuses, so i didm, but they were fine. Another dealer told me to replace the speedometer and that SHOULD take care of the problem. I don't want to spend $350 on a new speedometer and that not fix the problem. Is there anyone out there that has had this problem or has an idea what else could have caused this? Any help would be appriciated.

do your headlights work? does the electric starter work?
if the headlights & ES are out, check the relays. They will be in a black "pocket" under the front cab/cowl and near the solenoid and battery in the rear. The 2000 model had some sloppy wiring compared to the newer models so they might be difficult to locate. if one of these are tripped, none of the electrical equipment will work. There are 2 or 3 on the 2000 model units (someone correct me if i'm wrong)
