what is good for temp on egt gauge? scrammy 400
Hi, I was planning on getting an egt gauge while I can get it cheap. I need to get the wheeler going but for the knowledge for when I hook it up, what should I be running throughout the rev?? Was it around 1100-1300 degrees F? Cant remember although I read it somewhere once. Thanks in advance, Brian P.S. Ive got a 38mm vm carb, 60 over bore and wiseco piston, FMF Turbine Core2 silencer HPD trail pipe, UFO, K&N air filter, clutch kit, Boyeson RAd valves and reed assembly, and airbox mod-not sure what you needed to know for mods or if you guys need any at all

there is several thing to take into consideration before sure jetting, first, the more motor rev up,the more heat will come, second, the spark plug heat range will make huge differences in the temp too,i run a br9es with 168 main
jet on race port and i can't reach anymore than 1100 in top end and that isn't normal,if i put a br8es back in,
engine become too lean and can seize up.
normal temp is 1050 to 1100 in the mid with 1150 to 1200 at wot, around 450 at idle when engine is warmed up.
remember, the spark plug heat range is the most significant factor to determine the temp in egt's probe, than
come the rpm,if the motor rev down, heat will drop,
that why i use adjustable weight to proper set the weight in each rpm range (bottom, midrange and top end),to get
the proper temp in each area,
hope that help,
