was running fine, changed the air filter (was dirty), since changed it seems to sputter when I open it out or even if i'm driving at a constant speed, not always but sometimes. Should I change the plug??

pull it out and take a look at it and it needs it yea. your carb may need cleaning as well if its sputting maybe the main jet is starting to plug.
