OK, so you've ordered your deluxe snow plow frame, blade and mounting kit. Your frame and blade came in, the mounting bracket is on backorder til when?
Here's what I did. I bought 2 I-bolts. The ones with a circle on one end and threaded on the other. I forget if they were 1.5" or 2". Anyway, get two large diameter washers also. Under the front of your Sportsman 500, where the mounting kit goes, there are a few holes in the steel skid plate. Place the I-bolt round end over the end of the deluxe snowplow frame where the large pin slides through. Next, push the I-bolt through the nearest hole in the front skid plate (just below your protective radiator cover). place the large diameter washer over the back and tighten as best you can. You'll never get a wrench in behind there, but you can finger tighten pretty good. Do this on both sides of the plowframe. Then, put the large holding pin back through and replace the cotter pin. This will hold your plowframe from moving side to side and since the deluxe plowframe is attached in the back of your quad through the towing ball hole, it actually works really well. It doesn't need the front mount for pushing strength, just the side to side stabilization. I've been using mine for a week like this and haven't had any problems. I'm half tempted to tell them to keep their backordered mounting plate. I use my winch to raise and lower the blade.
I don't know how this would work with the standard plowframe that mounts midway under the quad.
