If you guys remember as I do, there was a guy on here a while back (months at least) that lived near those testing grounds you speak of. He made one post telling how he could see all the new prototypes that were being tested. I sent an e-mail to him to contact him but he seems to have dissapeared. I wish he would speak up and tell us what he knows. I sure would if I had access to testing grounds.

One other piece of rumor that went along with this. Supposedly, the one being tested in MN still didn't have the Polaris engine. They were still in the process of setting the frame and all up and had a Yamaha motor in it.....

Take that for what it's worth I guess.

In atv sport they have a picture and article of Hot Seats new project. 400,600, and 700 cc Two stroke engine in atv frames. They looked like snowmobile engines. They were going to build 25-50 quads a year on special order.

Hey PolarisMan~
The reason a 700 v-twin is heavier than a banshee is due to a few reasons...Two strokes are naturally lighter than 4 strokes. I'm not exactly sure what engine components make them lighter(maybe somebody can tell us what), but I know this is true. Also, the Polaris engine will have 2 times the displacment, leading to a heavier weight.

Two-strokes have less parts than 4. they don't have a cam, cam chain, or valves.

the all-new 700 Polaris engine is an IN-LINE TWIN, not a v-twin. It weighs less than the current Polaris 500 (FUJI Engine)

The "new" (USA built 700) engine is lighter than the Old FUJI 500, but not by much... It'll be out soon.. Ride'em hard Polcat
