Mobile 1 oil...
I use mobile 1 oil in my car and suv, but I'm debating going to mobile 1 in my sp 700. The polaris stuff is super expensive, $25 for oil and filter from my dealer.
My 2 questions
1, is mobile 1 safe to use? 0w40
2, what is a good filter besides polaris, preferably one I can get at napa?
Thanks for the input.

Car, truck and suv oils don't have the proper adiative packages for the smaller powersport engines. The powersport oils have higher anti shear adative packages and a few other thing to help them survive the stress better. I'm sure they work fine but they don't protect as well in the long term. It's your quad. Is replacing a $6K or $7K quad worth the cost of saving a few bucks on oil. There are other products out there that work as well if not better for less. Look around. I personaly use amsoil. I think my last change with new filter set me back 30 bucks. I order the 0W40 oil by the case with 6 filters so that covers me for 6 changes. It sets me back about 170.00 with shipping.

Some ATV's that have a wet clutch need different oil. The Amsoil stuff works great for this. I think Mobile 1 also has an oil that is safe for wet clutches. If your Polaris doesn't need a wet clutch oil, then any old oil will do. I however highly recommend the Amsoil

My WR426 is 5 years old and only has had Mobile 1 full Synthetic oil. My bike has a wet clutch and the Mobile 1 oil works great. Even if you don't have a wet clutch I recommend Mobile 1 with the Gold cap.
