Default magnum 500 speedo

I went to go for a ride on my Magnum 500 yesterday, and no electric start. I pull-started with no problem, but I noticed that I had no speedo, and I don`t think my fan was coming on. Traced it to a broken wire in the ignition system, back by the battery. After repairing this, I have electric start back, but still no speedo, and not sure of cooling fan, as I haven`t ridden it enough to see. I don`t have a test meter here at the cottage, so haven`t tested anything yet. Any experiences, or ideas? Also, what does the circuit breaker look like and how do you reset it.

Here is some more info on my problem, I have no functions or lights or whatever in the speedo. I hooked the accessory plug to the fan, and now I have fan whenever the key is turned. I would rather have too much cooling than not enough. Will this hurt anything until I get back there with my meter? I still have 4wd, just no speedo. Could it have shorted out and toasted the speedo? I like to know my speed because I tend to go a little faster than I should, but I don't like the price, especially if I am not sure it is the problem, or if they are that fragile. Any ideas? Also found the circuit breaker, it is just a throwaway unit in a sealed plastic pouch.
