Smoking and backfiring Phoenix
#1
My girlfriend and I bought my 11 year old son a left over 05 Phoenix from last year the end of May. Had it a week and took it back to the shop were we bought it from cause of the smoking and backfiring. They had it a little over a week and said it was finished so we went and picked it up.The service guy said it was backfiring cause it was low on gas even though it did it with a full tank.(Never heard that one before). And it was smoking cause it was new.Took it back in cause it`s still doing the samething after 2 weeks now.He said he relaced the Plug and for the smoking problem it has a major engine problem he has to Call Polaris to see if the warranty will cover it.Said he thinks the rings are broke. Now three days after he said he was going to call Polaris I called the dealer and he said he is trying to get a hold of Polaris but he keeps getting a busy signal or nobody answers so he`s goona keep trying. If we want to come get the Phoenix we can come get it and keep pouring oil in it and ride it but it does have a severe problem with the motor.Needless to say the Phoenix is only a liitle over 2 months old. with maybe 10 hours on it.

you got to love these so called dealers who dont have a clue or dont give a sh.t about their customer after the sale. if i were you ai would contact polaris direct and tell them whats going on and say the dealer doesnt seem to be able to find a solution. it definitely has a major engine problem and they dont smoke that bad when their new and the back firing could be differnt things, but not enough gas in it isnt one of them.

Yeah were going to call Polaris tomorrow. He said they been trying to contact them since Wednesday the 26th and gets a busy signal or nobody answers. I thought it was kinda funny when he said that about backfiring because of being low on gas.And we can pick it up though even with the engine problems and ride it as long as we keep putting oil in it.This is the same dealer we took our jet skis to and they took the catalyst converter out and put a new D Plate in it and it just basically sank cause they forgot to put a clamp on a hose for the exhaust to cool it.
