Default Predator Cold Air Intake!

I removed the airbox and the top, including the pipe running to the carb, and used a cold air intake off of a honda accord, it's cheaper than any other atv k&N system, it uses a way bigger filter, and it's stainless, not to mention it fits the stock carb perfectly. If anyone is interested, I'll tell ya'll how to make it. also I replaced the crankcase vent too. Just thought ya'll would be interested. Pics are coming soon.

That's refered to as the "Civic Intake". Very common on the Predators.

Be careful with that filter, they are not the best. You would do well to replace it with a true K&N or a Uni...

yeah, that's what I think I'll get. Question though, My predator already has a jet kit, but with the new intake it won't run unless the choke is on, I guess this would mean it's running too lean, but that doesn't make sense with an aftermarket jet kit does it?

Yea dude, don't run your Pred with that high flow filter on there without rejetting it. You will be way too lean...

I'm not familiar with the FMF jet kit, but you definately need to adjust for more fuel, however you do that.

Yeah my problem, is that I bought it with the jet kit, so I don't know what size or brand jets they are, if it actually does have one like the guy said.

you think I could get enough gas, just by maxing out the mixture screw?

MIxture screw is only for idle...not when you are on the gas.....I think....it explains this with the instructions or in past jet posts....

Not even close...

Example for ya, I went to a similar set up as you accept with a direct clamp-on filter. I went from a stock 150 jet to a 175...I should be at a 180 with the heat out here...

You need new jets brother.

For jetting help, go to Predator Owners (if you haven't been there already) and you will find more crap on the Preds than you will know what to do with. Good group over there though...
