So the RCR clutch kit is only the primary spring? That kinda bums me, I was afraid there might be a catch to the lower price when compared to Hot Seat or HPD's clutch/pipe. Anyone have any experience with Hot Seats pipe? It's one piece design (pipe & silecner) just like the stock pipe - is it as good as HPD's or RCR's?

 

My neighbor/riding buddy bought a used 2000 T'Blazer. He was a little suprised at it's lack of speed and power. He saw what HPD had done for my Sport, so he had the HPD pipe and clutch kit put on his quad. He was blown away at what it did for his bike. He can now wheelie the thing all day, and hills he couldn't make it up before are now very easily tackled, along with a little air at the top. Stick with HPD.

 

I have a 2000 trailblazer. I have been trying to decide whether to mod it, or sell and get a 400/500. For about $400 I can make the blazer a little faster, or for about $1000 I can get a 400 with better suspension,more power and speed. I am leaning on moving up to the bigger motor. Later, if I want more still, there is the same mod package for it.

Their not fast at all, but they CAN be some quick lil ****s.

 

I've considered the same thing and but I have to disagree on the cost you've stated. If your talking about a new 400 compared to a TB, the difference is $1800 - not $1000, 01 TB is $3200 and an 01 400 is $5000. As I understand it, you can spend about $1000 on mods for the TB and have it run pretty good with a stock 400. So if that's good enough for you - then your still $800 ahead.

No - they are not that fast. Everyone told me to skip the 250 and go for the 400. But cost was a factor and I figured the 250 would be plenty fast enough. Well, here I am 8 months later looking to do mods to speed it up. If you can afford a 400 - go for it. If not, the 250 is still a great bike, and the mods will improve things. I'm about to order the first of my mods now, then I'll know for sure.

 

I see 2000 TrailBlazers all day in the local cycle trader for $2600 tops. A new Scrambler 2X4 is roughly $4750. A modded TrailBlazer is still a couple steps below a stock 400 in speed and performance.

 

Speaking of suspension, will the long travel struts from a scrambler or sport fit the TBlazer? Would it be a simple bolt-on, or would one hafta chane a-arms, too?

 

If you add a clutch kit and pipe do you have to have the carb adjusted or re-jetted on a TB, how big a deal is is? I really would like to put em on mine but really don't want a hole burnt in the piston or loose the reliability?
