Did you rejet?? If not, do so...both pilot and main jets......and if you still don't like the response, send your carb to nicholas

Default pred air box?

I enjoyed much better throttle response and top end as well when I put the aftermarket CDI on. Major impact. I re-jetted but did not do other carb work. I have a K&N in the box with lid off. And I have the Rath header pipe with PP silencer with a turn down tip.
Also, how heavy are your wheels and tires?

Strong language, spyder6 !! You think I lie???
You should read more carefully. I did not say I had a drop-in K&N, I said I have "a K&N in the box"! It is the typical cone shaped K&N, leaving no room for a lid. I simply left the box in place and removed the lid for greater air flow around the K&N. The K&N clamps onto the black hard rubber air boot coming back from the carb. I found out I have to tie it securely in place or it pulls the air boot off the carb. Therefore, I don't necessarily recommend this setup, but it runs good for now. I have had it set up this way about two years.

daPredator is correct, it is impossible to have a drop-in K&N without the lid. However, I suspect he did not read carefully either...since he basically agreed with you.

My advice to you youngsters would be to get the facts and read carefully before calling anyone a liar.

hahaha, strong language. thats great. what you wrote could be EASLY mistaken by anyone on the forum, now your just trying to cover your tracks by calling us youngsters. while we are young, particularly DaPredator because he uses Da instead of the, you cannot possibly claim that we did not read carefully enough or got the 'facts' while myself AND dapredator were mistaken by your word usage. "I have a K&N in the box with lid off. " is exactly what you said. anyone could have easly mistaken that, plus, that is your only comment on your intake setup, nothing in your signature, or in your bio nor a picture of it in your page. so there goes your facts claim.

my advice to you, possibly middle aged man that got into the sport 18 years ago on Sea-Doo's is to not be such a *** about being called a liar.

Spyder6,
I have no tracks to cover, perhaps you do?
Seems to me I was very civil about being called a liar.
And you still show no respect even though you at least admit YOU made the mistake.
To get the "facts" and understand them sometimes you need to ask questions, as opposed to first calling someone a liar.
Most Pred owners know that there were (at least) two styles of K&N air filters used to replace the stock air filter in 2003 (not counting the "clamp-ons"). I first tried the K&N drop-in. Then I bought this K&N in the box setup from either Nicholas or Rath (can't remember), along with the alloy union piece that connects the K&N to the boot. I'm not sure if it really helped performance that much since I made some other mods at the same time.

And you can call me a "youngster" anytime.

Ride safe.

my point is, respect or not, is that your setup is very un-common, and your sentence structure and use of words could lead anyone to belive that you were useing a 'drop in filter' on a stock airbox
