Default just bought new 800 EFI

Hey fellas, I just bought a new 800 and it's allready in the shop for a loud clanging noise that seems to be coming from the gear shifter? The dealer where I bought it sais "that's normal"! The noise is as loud as the exhaust, now way that's normal. Any ideas what that might be? Also the bike seems to run very hot, what can I do for that issue? Not a happy camper about the Polaris!

Congrats! thats a great wheeler and when you figure out the SMALL problem, you will not be dissapointed in your purchase. Take the polaris hating on this web site with a grain of salt, to some people the hating is a sport. Good luck.

Thanks brother, I hope you are right. I keep reading alot about the heat problems. That is a rediculous thing to have to deal with. I am going to call the dealer tomorrow and ask about it.

Ok thanks for the info. The heat problem bothers me more than that issue. You would think that something that cost's that much would not melt down. ha ha

Mine gets plenty warm but no melting. That 760 does put out alot of heat though. My main racket is from gear train slop especially when the ebs comes on.

All of them have drive train slop. They clank and rattle going down hills. It is normal and just something you have to deal with as a Polaris owner. My 600 has 2300 miles on it and it has done it since new.

It is reassuring to hear that. Mine is still in break in mode and that noise is bothersome.....but I'll get used to it....
