Default 600 twin. Why dont they make em anymore?

friend of mine is looking to buy one used. What problems did these units have?
is there a reason Polaris stopped making them?

Whats the big diff between this and a 500 H.O.?

No real problems that i have heard of. The 600's never sold that well cause the price difference between the 600 and 700 was only a few hundred dollars. They are good machines and have a little quicker rev than the 700 cause the stroke is shorter.

I have an '04 600 SP. My buddy has an '04 700 EFI SP. We run the same for about 200 feet or so, then he starts pulling away. Only problem I have with my 600 is it's cold natured, even in the summer, and I'm in Texas. If I let it sit for an hour or two, I have to let it warm up again.

I also have an 04 600 and haven't had any problems with it.

I live in MN so cold weather is a given, after I installed a dynojet jet kit I don't have any cold weather issues anymore, its definetely worth the money!

I guess I’m part of the crowd that caused them not to sell so well. The 600 just never made that much sense to me when the 700 was priced so closely. And at this point, do you really need a 450, 500, 600, 700 and 800 to capture the market? Even though the 600 is a great machine I think a choice between two really good one-lungers and two really good twins is plenty.
