I currently own a Polaris 800 EFI Sportsman and absolutely love it to death...Owned it since they first came out and never had one single problem.....I am now giving it to my wife and considering buying either 2007 Sportsman X2 800 efi or the new Outlander Max 800 LTD.........Can anyone give their HONEST views on the two bikes...I def. want a 2 seater and they both look nice however I can not find any reviews on the outlander....Guys please don't bash either just give me honest opinions on the outlander and polaris decision....
I love polaris but I also loved my DS 650 baja which is being sold on EBAY right now for 5700 my reserve however is 4900...TONS of upgrades.......

the outlander is faster of hte 2 obviously, but the polaris is more work oriented than the outlander. the outlanders passenger seat is alot more comfortable than the X2's, though the X2 has the dump bucket that you can use. all on personal preferance. both are fantastic
the X2 comes with a 6.5 gallon tank by the way

tell more on the 4x4 system ....why is the polaris better?..and why do you say the outtie is more fun...i also hear it has 28% more power....I thought the 800 was a monster .....My polaris does well and has a handlebar light that turns with the bars...very helpful at night when you need to look around......

The Outty is faster but not by much in a short race (1/8 mile) to about 40 mph.
I have a picture of a sp800 vs. Bomb 800 drag race at the Drummond Island Jamboree at Turtle Ridge ORV park in MI U.P. (see below)
The Bomb won by about half a quad length! He also won the utility darg overall.
Not a bad showing for the sp800 at 100+ lbs though.
The guy on the bomb is my buddy and I raced him on Pavement with my Scrammy and beat him handily.

Dragorus, I have an X2 and love it. I have a dealer here in Mass. who sells Bombs (Can-Am), Polaris, Kawas, and Suzis. I've read many articles saying the Bomb is a slightly faster quad. Mine is a 500cc and goes fine, even with a passenger. From what I've heard if you want shear speed go for the Bomb, utility for the X2. The 800cc aren't out yet that I have seen. The Bombs seat does seem more cushiony than the X2, but I didn't get a complaint from my wife on a 8 mile ride or my son on a 38 mile drive. I do like not having to take the seat off and leaving behind when I am by myself. Just fold it under and off you go. I can fit a huge cooler in the back for lunches on the trail. If I need the extra seat, it takes about 5-10 seconds and off you go. I've gone on some 45 degree slopes with a passenger and it does excellent and the 4 wheel EBS works very well for me. I've gone through some serious, 2-2 1/2 foot deep mudholes without an issue. Also, with the dump box, I've carried enough firewood for a couple of good campfires. Fuel economy seems to be about 20mpg. I'm just ticked off that Polaris is bringing in a Camo and an 800cc just a couple short months after I bought mine. I hope this helps you.
