how to get into diagnostic mode ?

Default how to get into diagnostic mode ?
On mine you have to squeeze the brake with engine running, then turn engine off, hit the yellow button for 5 secs, release it, let go of brake, turn key on while holding tongue just right! LOL!!! I had to do it!
