99 scrambler problem again
#1
well this is getting old. took my bodies scrambler out for a ride. he leaves it at my house. it felt wierd in the rear like it was floating. when i got it home i soon discovered that the bearing in the axle are gone bad. i have it tore down to the little hubs that your sprocket bolts to on one side and the hub that your rotor bolts to on the other. i can not get them off. i see that they are threded but i can not get them broke loose. are they reverse threads. any ideas will be helpful. i am going to try heating them tomorrow i think. it see every time i ride it i find something wrong with it. oooooo well it is a 99 with a hard life under it. how much is it to replace all the bearings.

If you are talking about the axle jam nut it is faster and easier to get a new nut and use a dremmil tool with a cutoff wheel to cut the nut in a couple places and then split it with a chissle.
Be careful no to mess the threads up!
The cheapest place I have found for bearings is PiviotWorks www.pivotworks.com

Radmfg.com sells billett aluminum rear bearing carriers for polaris scramblers with double roller brgs and tapered roller bearings. They cost about $219.00. Lubed externally and look really nice. Comes comple and assembled.
