Default ...and the CV boot saga continues......

I tore my CV boot on a ride about 2 weeks ago, (due to the defect of the plastic guard no doubt) no biggie it was going
to cost me $120 to get it replaced and a new air filter put in. The dealership called this morning and said my bearings in
the front left axle were rusted and the whole axle assembly needed to be replaced to the tune of $250.. THIS IS BS!!!!
The second I tore the boot I stopped and looked, I was in a field with NO water near by, I rode it about 1 mile put it on
a trailer and took it straight to the dealership, i just dont know how it could have rusted, it hasnt rained here in a month. I told him to get it fixed under warranty because I refuse to pay for that. I have to wait a couple of days to hear what they say about it.

good luck on getting it fixed under warranty. i went thru 2 of them, and one was there fault for not putting clamp on right. it doesnt take much to ruin a cv joint but i would say from my vast(unfortunitly) experince if its not clicking yet then regrease it and new boot and let it go. depending on which one it was it does cost that for the cv joint and about 25 to 35.00 for the boot.
