Default Oil Leak at plug

I have an 03 Sportsman 500 and I finished my second oil change on it the other day. After completing I noticed it was leaking oil (slow drip) at the plug. First I replaced the plastic washer, didn't fix it. Next I put Teflon tape on the threads and that didn't work either. Can anybody help me?

did you over tighten it and crack the pan? thats what it sounds like. if you replaced washer and put thread tape on you've pretty much eliminated the plug.

That is a possibility, although I couldn't see any indication. If that is the case, what is the procedure for repair?

i priced one for you, its 100.00 for a new one. if you find thats the problem i dont know if like JB weld would seal it and hold or not. by any chance did you cross thread the plug back in and mess up the threads so it wont seat all the way in. seems it would have pulled (stripped) the threads b4 it cracked it. clean it up real good and get a flash light and watch it to see where the oil is coming from.

The threads look O.K. I'll do some more investigating. Thanks for the help.

Did you replace the plastic washer (gasket) on the plug? My dealer's mechanic says every couple changes in should be changed.
