I just read a post on another Category and feel for the guy with the new LEMON he bought............However I did a search here on the Polaris form for "lemon" and the last post was back in AUG.2005 I think that is REALLY good record if you ask me!!!!!!(for Polaris)..........When you take in account all the posting since then and people usually post when they have something BAD to say............Polaris Quads are doing quite will I guess...........Just something I wanted you readers to know.........Bye for now......caper...........

Feel for me too, I have a camo colored lemon. At 225 miles headlights fell out, drive belt came apart(not burnt like abuse would do), left rear wheel/hub assy. almost fell off, and at 275 miles water pump mech seal leaking. I didn't want anyone to think that pooplaris was any better!!

Lemons you say?! I would say I have a "mac daddy" of a lemon. I have sent letters to Polaris HQ, sent e-mails and surprise, surprise no response! Finally I got through to customer service so I could vent my frustration. They said the usual like" we'll see what we can do" and" we'll put a resolution specialist on it"- what/whoever that is?? "just take it to the dealer" ,where it sits at this time awaiting parts.
1st run, horrendous squeaking in front suspension, sounds like its 10 yrs old and beat to hell, and the tires need to be reseated on the rim
3 weeks later, call dealer for 1st month servicing, phone has been dissconnected, they went bankrupt(and no it wasn't because of the deal they gave me)so there goes the "service" from the actuall shop where I got it. So now I deal with another shop that when I was shopping for a bike in the 1st place had the attitude of hey, you're wasting my time, I have other things to do, so the wife and I walked out.
Fuel pump died, stranding my daughter and I in December, in Canada, luckily only a short distance from home
Tranny, moisture in there freezing and preventing shifting, which eventually broke
Fuel pump again, had to be towed by a BF750 for about 25 miles during a being run! This time bad connection, what a nightmare finding that
Broken bolt in rear knuckle, leaving threaded end still screwed in there(should change those bolts to a higher grade)
Hose clamp constantly coming off on axles, minor, yet aggravating
Front diff, roller cage assembly needs replacing and a magnet- apparently this problem was resolved for early production yr 04, mines an 04.5!
Few other prob's with leaks and hoses mysteriously coming off when its not being used, all fairly minor.

Befoe the headlights fell out didnt you notice a rattle noise or anything? I am not saying it's you but a ton of people scream lemon, but if they would just take the time to look over the bike before they ride it most of this stuff wouldn't happen.

I bow out to the new lemon king! That bolt breaking in the rear hub happened to me. I put a post on here about it. "Help, having doubt about my 800" MAN you should have seen the knowledge of these guys. They are so smart, they even know the way I ride. (Some guys on here are good though) So, I will be the first to say it. ABUSE ABUSE ABUSE That is what I heard, thought that I would say it to someone else

My bike has never been abused, a few mudholes yes but, not to the extreme of some of the young guys I see out there. 80% of the time one of my kids is on with me. 1500Km's in over 2 yrs, it's hardly broke in.
And as for checking your bike over before you leave, it doesn't matter with a Polaris, it's an adventure each time you leave the yard!!
