Default Finally rid of my '03 Sportsman 600

After $3900 and 7 months in the shop, I finally got rid of my Polaris. the extended warranty ran out of money, and since the dealer new all my troubles with this bike, he gave me a good deal on an '07 Honda Rincon. Smoother ride and not so bulky. Hopefully, less trouble. That Polaris hopefully was 1 in a million lemons, because it sure was a lemon.

Lonly

Welcome to the Honda family. I also have a 04 Rincon bought new in 06 and a 03 sp600. The 600 has 1800 miles. On its 3rd front diff, 4th set of boots, 1 cv shaft, just broke a rear brake caliper, speedo, ball joints, bushings and 2 hall effect sensors. It has ran great since I got it and I like the power. I just bought my Rincon at the beginning of the year new. I already have 1200 miles. Not 1 problem. Did a few mods and it leaves the 600 in the dust. The 600 is a much better mudder so thats what I use it for. The Rincon is a superior trail machine. You can handle it like a sport quad on the trails.

Put some good tires on the rincon and it will handle even better. Good luck! See ya in the Hondu forum. Also check out RinconRiders.com. Everything you want to know about the Rincons. See ya there.

I had 170 hours, 1800 miles on it. I put around 900 miles on it out in Utah last year where it broke down twice. The first was a bolt holding the rear hub to the A-Arm. the fatal one was when the CDI went out, luckily on the next to last day. They had to replace the CDI, Stator, and Flywheel. Then, this Feb, the crank bearings went out, requiring a complete engine rebuild. I was in WV at Hatfield-McCoy trails when this happened and when I got it back it overheated and the dealer replaced the thermostat. Unknown to us, when it overheated, it warped the cover on the waterpump which is made of plastic. while replacing the thermost, they discovered a problem with the front axles and differential and had to replace all three. then they had to replace the warped cover on the water pump and it still leaked there. they found that the new seals they installed behind the water pump were bad and had to replace them again. NOw if you ask about the maintenance on this machine, the oils and filter were changed religiously. including differentials.
