Default scrambler bars

last weekend i was riding logging roads and goin on side trails. some were really rocky being that they were dried creek beds, anyways on one of the cross ditches the handle bar mounting plate weld broke leaving me with only the left side still attached to the stem. so i had to limp it back 20 miles and by the time i got back there was less then an inch holding them on. i thought they might fall of while bouncing down the road on the trailer, they were floppin pretty good on their own. so now to my question. have any of you done anything to beef them up? i was thinkin making a thicker plate and weld it to whats there and possibly some gussets. do you have any pics of what youve done if you have done something?

this is a common problem. i removed mine that was broken and welded on a same size 1/4" plate steel. it has held up great for at least two years now.

sorry no pics.
