Default trail boss brakes

I just bought a 2004 Trail boss 330 for my daughter. The foot brake just goes to the floor board and does not activate the brake calipers. Also the brake light does not come on when using the foot brake. I am going to try to bleed them but if that fails to correct the problem is there any thing else I need to look for? I have to admit I havent had time to look at the braking system yet but any ideas will be apreciated. Maybe there is some type of adjustment? Thanks.

Make sure you bleed both brakes. According to Polaris, and the owners manual, not to be used as a primary brake. The brake handle controls both front and back. It' s common thing to have it fade or not work. Works on my old Boss, but doesn't on the newer Blazer. You kinda just get used to it.

yes pretty common to have to rebleed the rear brakes and the brake light only works with the hand brake

So....... if the handlebar controls BOTH brakes, and the foot brake goes to the floor (according to the original writer) then wouldn't his problem be a bad rear brake piston, etc., assembly?? I had a 2004 Trail Boss 330 with the same problem -- handlebar brake works well but foot brake goes to the floor) and I simply assumed that the foot brake was broke. Am I wrong? What can I check?

The foot brake could just have air in the system, or worse a broken line or loose fitting.

Most of the 330s ive seen has this problem. The foot brake and hand brake each have there own line going to the rear caliper, so one does not effect the other. Ive bled the foot brake a couple times, it works for a while the fades away. Im gonna try bleeding both systems all on all 3 calipers to see if this helps.
