Just wondering how reliable the oil injection systems are on the 250 2 strokes?
when i bought my quad it wasnt hooked up and it had mixed fuel in it, and since i hooked it back up it seems to leak a little bit and im just worried that its gonna fail on me when im out on a trail
And if i decide to just mix fuel, does it through off the carb at all?
thanks

I have read that they are very reliable. You can check it to make sure it is working before you ride it. I would never block off the injector on my Trailblazer. Why go through the extra work of premixing if I don't have to? Also, premixing lowers the octane of the gas quite a bit.

Oil injection on 2-strokes are reliable if you take care of them. Some people like myself took them for granted and it cost me $500 to rebuild the upper end. I never had any problems, just added oil when I need it. For some reason it quit working at 10,000 ft. and 7 miles from camp. When I removed the oil injection unit there was no blockage, filter was clean, oil was clean, and lines were clean. Got down to the plug that goes into the engine and it was plugged. I love my 2-stroke but I will premix from now on for all 2-strokes.
