!!!!!!Help me out 2 stroker modifiers!!!!!!

95 Xplorer that Has a bad throttle cable. I want to eliminate the oil injection and premix the fuel 40:1. I will put on a single pull cable, instead of the stock "Y" cable. Will I hurt anything by leaving the pump hooked up to quad with no oil to pump? It will be caviating, will this hurt anything? Also I want to know should I plan on a larger main jet. The fuel viscosity will change, so is a larger jet needed to flow the same amount of fuel? I think someone makes a block off plate, but would rather not do that unless this will hurt something. Let me know guys, THANKS!

Not sure why you want to remove the oil injector? It does nothing for performance. But anyways you need a injector block off kit. Dont leave it hooked up with nothing flowing through it. HPD, aaen and hotseat have block off kits.

As I stated, it has a bad cable and needs replaced. Since a part has to be bought, I want to do this modification at the same time. I didn't know if the block off was NEEDED or if it were a way for sport guys to lighten their quads. I don't care about the weight removal.
My questions have not been answered yet.
1. Will this hurt the machine to run the pump with no oil in it?(Premix the gas)
2. Should I expect the main jet to be an issue?

I found out the jetting is the same. I didn't realize the oil is injected in the carb boot. So, the oil already goes though the main jet.
Still looking to see if it is NEEDED to rmove the oil injector!

If you leave the pump hooked up there is a chance of it locking up the pump an then breaking the gear off in witch could cause damage. You don't need to rejet. The oil pump run off the counter balance.

i can help. first thing you need to do is get a throttle cable for a 96 sportsman 500. fits perfect and gives full slide travel. Take your oil pump out and find a punch that will drive the roll pin out that holds the gear on. then reinstall the pump. also you need to block off the inlet on the reed boot (so no is does not go through the carb or mainjet) find a m6 x 1.0 bolt about half an inch long, using the aluminum washer that the old bolt had for sealing, just tighten in the hole. pre-mix the gas and you are ready to go. I recomend this to anyone who has a throttle cable go down or a oil pump return spring, it simplifies the bike and provides better lubrication.

What is a good mixture to mix the oil and gas at if you do this mod? I just had a problem with mine and not sure it oil pump may have been the cause.

I would be carefull with the amsoil dominator, I ran it in my tb250 an had a
problem with the piston rings sticking in the ring grooves, this was with the
oil injection, don't know if it would happen with pre mix. This was confirmed
by a speed shoppe that said they have seen a sticky flim that can get stuck
to the rings & not burn off. The base stocks of the dominator oil are heavy!!
made for racing apps. I am now using the interceptor amsoil hoping it don't
happen again. On higher rpm motors this may not be a problem, I have ran
the dominator in my sleds & not had a problem so far, but the rpm's run
a lot higher. amsoil #1 choice for atv's and sleds is the interceptor oil, & I
will start to change my sleds over this winter.

if your going to remove the pump you need a block off , I suppose you could remove the shaft, but the main reason people do this is to not have to buy the expensive throttle cable, and for weight savings.
the stock injector is pretty reliable and you will use way less oil in the long run, however if your planning to push high rpm's I would remove it.
