Default Using foot brake to shift into high

I hate the fact that I have to use the foot brake in order to shift my 05 SP500HO into high range. Why is it set up this way and is there a way to override this.

Default Using foot brake to shift into high

In 2006 they removed the operation of having to use the foot brake to shift into "high" or "park". I specifically purchased a 2005 500 HO to have this option (and the PXT's & EBS). When in the woods I typically use low & reverse and it's easy to toggle between the two without having to look at the speedo to see what gear I'm in. If you want to remove this option on yours you can put a tighter spring or wire on the pin near the foot brake to hold the locking pin out so you can slide into "high" or "park" without tapping the footbrake. Hope this helps.

jous unscrew the brake lock out plunger from the trasnmission and grind the pin off and screw it back in trans on the 06 they eliminated this plunger and you can leave off the spring that connects the brake pedal and plungger also its no longer needed after grinding off this pin
