Default Just bought an old trail boss 250, need some help

Ok to start off this thing is a beater so i am not too crazy about it. It starts and runs good but i have some Q's. The old owner disconnected the oil tank and just put in pre-mixed gas, is this bad? Also when i start it (pull start) gas drips from the elbow of the muffler in front, what can cause this? Were there rear brakes on these things? All i can find are the front ones which are connected but i cant find a pedal mount or anything for the rear. Any help or tips on these old 2strokes would be great.

maybe the oil injection quit working but i doubt it. some people feel safer w/ premixed. i never had any problems w/ our 250 t. blazer. you sure thats gas and not oil dripping? if its gas then its running way to rich and cant burn all of the gas so its being pushed out the exhaust. chances are if you pull the plug out its black and wwet if so. make sure the air filter is clean and dry (if its a stock paper one). i beleave it had rear brakes as well. probably been stripped off the the bike. what year is this bike.

I have a 86 trail boss at home also has nobrakes on the rear axle the breaks are off the transmission look on the oppsite side of the rear clutch there is no foot pedal just the two break levers if so the rear brakes work great much better than the fronts i love the little trailboss works great for running around or as spare hope this helps on the breaks
