It all kinda depends on what you plan to do with it in the future...if you want to drag it then the CPI is an excellent choice..if you want a good all around pipe for riding trails, dunes or whatever then the HPD trail pipe is one awesome pipe IMO....it has good low end , mid and top. It also works great on a trail and race ported motor(the top end suffering some on this setup).. It's best to stay with someone (HPD, RcR, Hotseat, and Aaen) who knows this motor...the FmF doesn't have all that good of a rep with the polaris 400 motor. Just my .02.

I have said this before. The only pipe for the 400 when you dont want to raise the engament speed much is the Dynoport. It is made to run the stock rpm range and does great with just a basic primary clutch spring change to a Polaris green or Dalton Black/white.
This pipe pulls from bottom to top.www.dynoport.com
The HPD ,RcR,Aaen and HSP are all good pipes too but need to be reclutched to get them into the power range.

I always forget about this pipe.... I guess cause it's just not as popular as the HPD and others.

I'm running the HPD trail pipe on my Scrambler and am very pleased with it. I had to raise my engagement, but It is still VERY manageable in the woods. I have to agree with ftwflh though, the dynoport is the pipe to go with if you want to keep a low engagement. Stay away from FMF and DG pipes. They may be great on dirtbikes, but the manufacturers can't even tell you how the clutch should be set up with their pipe on a Polaris!

DYNOPORT is located right down the street from me, i have heard good thing and bad things, obviously everyone uses them in my area because they are local so I have heard alot. It would have to be a good price for me to buy one. Not to mention I would wanna watch it get made and I would want to pick the welder. Nothing against young kids but thats all he has working there high school kids pretty much all of them. Welding is somthing that takes expirance in my opinion and no 15-16-17-18 year old should be makin pipes, mabye ill go talk to him but i bet i could weld better than some of those kids working there lol.

Most shops use wire welders these days and a half blind monkey can weld decent with those.
