hello,
I currently have a 95 Yamaha Warrior and will soon be looking for a new machine, since I have over time came to realize that my bro's 99 wolverine and dad's grizzly 4x4 feature is nice so I was thinking that maybe a 2001 Scrambler 400 4x4 might be a nice machine ( I like the wolverine but want alot more power) but I'm worried that the quad (scrambler) might not have as much power and speed as my good old warrior (stock for stock), will the scrambler be a better wheely machine than my warrior too?? (stock vs. stock) also can I get a 2001 scrambler 400 4x4 in the new yellow?
anyway thanks for the help and I look forward to your replies.

As for the warrior, the yammaha will be choking in the dust and would need radar to find the Scrambler, it would be so far ahead on flat ground. Throw some mud and rough terrain in the mix, and you might as well leave the tow rope attached between the two, at least that way the Warrior won't be that far behind...

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Polaris discontinue the Scrambler 400 4x4 for 2001?

Im pretty sure they wont be making a 2001 scram 400 4x4, If you want a 2001 it will have to be the 500 4x4. Some 200 are still out there though. Either machine will not have any problems going faster then the ones you are riding with. they will also dust a stock warrior. They will both wheelie but not as easily as the warrior, but they wont get stuck like a warrior either! The scrambler wont turn as nice as the warrior till you get some sport tires on it. And only the 500 comes in the cool yellow. I had a good old warrior also, since I have the scrambler, its just an old warrior. hehehe the scrambler is a better ALL terrain quad. GJ

Wheelies with the variable transmission ? Scares me.

Problem with that is, that by the time you got her up to an angle where you could actually RIDE a wheelie, seems to me that you'd be going WAY faster than you'd want to on two wheels. You have way less control with the PVT. Some guys do it. Not me.
