Default xplorer 400 & trailblazer motor switch?

I have a 1998 xplorer 4x4 400 that I mostly just use for pushing snow and giving kids ride on. I also have a 2003 trailblazer 250 that I wish was a 400. Is there an easy way to just swap motors? Will this work or am I dreaming? I realize that the tb is air cooled and the xp is liquid cooled, but it looks like there is room to make the switch. Will I run into any problems with the different tranny's or will they each work with either engine?

The xplorer is a heavy 4x4 and the trailblazer is a lightweight 4x2. The xplorer has racks and heavy duty frame and parts that the trailblazer doesn't have. I want to be able to take it to the dunes and have it perform decent! Tires, wheels & plastic are all different!

the scrambler is more like the trailblazer then the explore. there again it seems like it would be easier to strip down the explorer then to swamp engines. take the 4x4 out and racks off save weight that way maybe. just a thaught.

do a weight comparison of the explorer to scrammy, 4x4 to 4x4 I bet you will find the explorer is real close weight wise(scramblers biggest downfall). .

but to anwser your question, motor, cooling and wiring harness will switch over to the tb frame, you will need to get a scrambler pipe as the explorer one is different, air box also it may or may not fit.

you will need to get a top motor mount for a 400 TB. Don't need to do anything with trans. I tolk the 400 from my scrambler once an put it in my tb just to try it out. It wirked fine just didn't clutch it right but it had alot of power. You will need to get the mounts for the radator too. The 250 should work ok in the expoler too for pushing snow in low range.
Just add a pic of it only have the one pic thought.
