#1
I went out on the trail sunday, shut my machine off for gas it wouldn,t start with the key . I also noticed no lights or fan, I had to turn the key on to pull start, but i still had no lights (head lights or tail lights) no fan. Could this be the ignition switch. Help needed.

Sounds more like your circit breaker blow. Wait a bit and see if it will start up or if the lights work.
If light come on start looking for a short or bad battry.

if the connections are good then the lights should be working. but it maybe be possiable thatthe bike isnt charging as well.does it turn of w/ the key switch now? sounds like the switch is working. there is an inline circuit breaker between the battery and the starter on some bikes i beleave. start by seeing if your getting power to the starter from the batt.

Thanks for the info. The Scrambler will shut off with the key, and I have to have the key on to start with pull rope. I pulled all the plastic on the machine and will check all the connection today. I will let everyone kvow what I find.

I looked at the machine today had all the plastic removed, traced all the electrical out and I believe the kill switch was the problem, Not sure how the switch works or the contacts that are made up of this unit. Seemed to be a short (bad contact) in the switch.

I had the same problem with my 02 500 2x4 scrammy, I found out if I would
move the kill switch back & forth & the light switch, that it would start up
this would not happen vary often so I did not look in to it. I was thinking
that the contacts in one of the switches was a little weak. let us know if
u find out for sure what it is. thanx
