I am trying to remove the A-arms from my 94 sport 400L and i am having problems.
I can get one bolt out but then the other bolt just spins. Is there something i am doing wrong?

Thanks

sounds like the bushing inside may be bad and not letting it loosen. put the other bolt on and under tension and then it should allow the bolt to break free, then back both out alternating.

Thanks for the reply

Thats what I thought - but when i put the 1st bolt back in tight enough to get the 2nd loose, the 1st bolt just spins. I did this for about 30 minutes and just gave up. Guess i'll just have to mess with it a little more.

When you get the first bolt out lube it up real good and them start with the alternating.

don't put the bolt in stiff, just enough to slow the spinning on the other, put a wrench on it and shock it with a hammer. this should brake the bolt loose, there loctited in there.

the manual also states not to reuse the bolts, ive reused mine going back and forth between my plus 3's and stock arms without issues but use the loctite.

A long tapered punch works good also.

some times a air impact gun will spin the bolt so fast, the inside can not get up to
speed that quick & the bolt will spin off. I don't know if u have the tools to get in
there to do it this way, may not be a possability, but I have done it on other things
with the same problem. just make sure that the air gun is set to loosen the bolt!!!
they will break small bolts quickly if turning the wrong way!!!

I have a trick I use to get the A-arm bolts out.

Take bolt 1 out. Either one it does not matter.
Thread a spare nut on bolt 1 about 10-12 turns.
Put bolt 1 back in A-arm at least 6 turns with nut still on bolt 1.
Hold bolt 1 and tighten nut against A-arm support.

At this point the A-arm bushing should be locked in place by bolt 1 and spare nut.

Take bolt 2 out.
Hold bolt 1 and loosen nut from A-arm support.
Remove bolt 1.
