It's probably got the best ride of any 400CC class quad on the market, and nice features like true 4x4, low range, etc ...

 

how bout an EBS system.. i really think that would be a plus.. they have them for accesorys on 450's.. are they worth having and how much do they cost.. i tried looking it up on purepolaris.com but i didnt see a price value..

With the 450, is a 4-wheel EBS or is it the standard 2-wheel like mine has? Personally, I'd rather have no EBS than the 2-wheel that I have .. but that's just me.

 

im not sure.. its an accesory for the 450.. dual sensing EBS it says. it replaces your clutch or something? im not sure how it gets put it..

i'd like to see a "selectable" EBS system for all 4. That would be nice.

 

My dealer threw in the ebs on my 450. It works.
I don't have anything negative to say about the 450.
It works great, rides smooth, plenty of power.
The 500 class and up quads will outrun it in a drag race,
I trail ride so that's not an issue to me.

Speedy 63 just wanted to know how they fixed your melting plastic problem please let me know I also have a 2006 500 efi with the same problems.

There is very little noticable power difference if you go from one to the other. However, line them up side by side and the 500 will - quickly show it's power advantage. My cousin recently baught a 450. I have a 05 500ho, so of course I had to try his out for comparisons. I too noticed very little power difference. Then he got on my 500 and we dragged. Well the 500 pulls away from the 450 from the word go and doesn't let up. I mean it's not like dragging against a BF750, but it is several quad lengths diff. Now, Here's where I really noticed the 500 advantage. I always load my quads in the back of my Z71 backwards. As we all know reverse is not as low as low range. The 500 will back up those ramps into the back of my full sized GMC with the slightest strainning. I tried to back his 450, as he's affraid to do this, and the thing would'nt go. I pulled forward and got a little running start and with him pushing on the front it finally went up the ramps in reverse. All said and done the 450 doesn't have the lowend grunt of the 500ho or efi. I highly reccommend the 500 over the 450!

 

Some dealers here in Canada now throw in the E.B.S. with the price....Do to the fact they are trying to clear them out(2006).........caper.......as for the reverse thing..........I pulled several stumps out of the ground in reverse with the override button pushed(for 4x4 in REV.) no problem at all................caper.......
