My Hawkeye will not go over 15 or 16 mph now. I was dragging a green field and it starting sputtering. Within a few minutes it would barely go. Now from 0 to 16 everythings cool (on flat ground, pulling any sort of hill will also cause sputter). After that - PUTT, PUTT, PUTT. Maybe transmission???

 

How was it running before that? Did it ever stutter going up hills? Could you get 40 mph out of it before that?

Check the air filter to make sure it isn't clogged.

 

It was running fine. Sputtered coming out of water once. The top speed was 45. Haven't checked the air filter but would doubt it was dirty. Its still under warranty so I'm taking it back to the dealer this afternoon.

Only takes one minute to check the filter. Pop the seat and release the two clips at the top front of the air box and pull the cover off.

 

You were dead on about the air filter Sheep. I guess I was trying to make it too difficult. Thanks alot.
