Default whit smoke after rebuild

well just got my srammy back together and started the break-in and this is what i have......normal smoke at start up, then a couple minutes into the run it starts smokin white pretty darn good. The engine sounds good but perhaps it's just me being pareniod after the rebuild, this being my first polaris rebuild. what do ya'll think? Ok or me just burin off the extra oil used to assemble the topend?

it would be more blueish smoke if it was oil. you should be able to smell the antifreeze burning if its smokes that much. keep a close eye on if the coolant level drops and maybe do a leak down test if you can.

well it only smokes after a few minutes of gettin into the throttle then tapers off. The bike starts first time everytime and dosn't seem to have any coolant loss.....the smell of the exhaust is sort of sweet smelling but then again it also smells like 2-stroke oil. having raced in the past i know that a cylinder leak down is the best test for this but like I said I just got her together and probably am just pareniode.........Thanx guys for the quick info....ya'll rock

What kind of head gasket did you use on the rebuild? The only one that has proven quality is an OEM Polaris head gasket. Most aftermarket gaskets aren't as soild and are more prone to failure. If you haven't already, get an OEM head gasket in the engine!.
