48' plow blade good enough?
A 48 foot plow blade will get you by for sure
Sorry. I know it was just a simple type 'o. Couldn't resist. You can smack me now. I deserve it and admit it.
Now...yes a 48" plow is good enough. You are better off with a larger plow of course. I had a Moose Plow brand blow for my first plow. I don't know the exact size and frankly, I was pretty ignorant on plows. I had never had a ATV with one before. But it worked great. I then bought a Polaris and got one of the plows that came with the bike. It's a 48" plow. Compared to my old Moose Plow, I hate it. Nowhere near as good a plow. Not even remotely close. And it is fun to plow. But outside the concept of how much you can plow at once, how well you dig in is important too. And for whatever reason, my 48" plow does not dig in as good. I don't know why. I suspect it is not nearly as heavy as my old Moose Plow. I loved that thing. Oh and it was larger than 48". I think it was more like a 60".

Just make sure the blade is wide enough to clear a path the
width of your ATV.
If you angle the blade you may not plow enough of a path
in order for your ATV to drive through.
In this case you would want a wider blade.
I was considering getting a 52" or 56"
Not sure yet. However, I think 48" could be
to small.
A 48 footer would rock though!

I have a 48 footer for my quad and it works well for me. I live in the city and it works well for doing sidewalks. If I didn't have sidewalks and only a big driveway, I would definitely go larger then a 48 footer.
