Default Camber adjustment on '06 sportsman 500

Hello everyone,

From day one the bike has been a little hard to turn, I noticed that the tires are are further out at the bottom than the top. I looked and do not see any way to adjust. Did I just overlook something or is there a way to correct my issue.

Thanks,
EPL29

Too much sag. Thenew quads have too much. Only way to elimiate it, is to lift it a little! One of Poo's poor designs! They are after the ultra plush ride!

Well, I hate to hear that. That's all I needed was an excuse. I'll just print this out for back-up when I tell my wife I need to lift her quad..... I know honey, I don't like it either but it's the only way. LOL

Thanks

Polaris front travel went from 6.7" to 8.2" for 2005 and up. Maybe lower is the way to go?

Check your toe. Many of the Sportsmans come from the factory with significant toe in and if your dealer doesn't check it, it will be hard to steer. When I carefully looked at the atvs at my dealer I could see most were not right. Because of the positive camber the toe in isn't easy to notice without actual measurements. Mine was way toed in (>1/2 inch at the rim face) and once I set it about 1/16" toed out, it made a big difference in steering ease. Also handles much better.
The positive camber will also make it harder to steer but it's not adjustable unless you redrill or cut and reweld the upper stut mounts. Haven't tried such a drastic mod and I'm not convinced it would make a noticible difference anyway.
