What is this box for?

Default What is this box for?

Have a 99 scambler 500 4x4... On the front where the radiator is there is a black box with 3 or 4 wires? My quad runs with out them pluged in... i have no clue what it is any one know?

if i had to guess i would say its the recterfier (regulator). does it have fins on it then thats what it is.

It dont have fins on it it attached to the radiator shield... has 2 wires ones red the other is black then the other wires one is yellow one with yellow and red to it...

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

Default What is this box for?

That is the reverse limiter .When you disable the rev limiter in reverse you unplug the black one and you dont have to hold the button in to back up but you do have to hold it in for 4x4 in rev.

will it hurt to just leave it unplugged?? also dose it have to be mounted in the front by the radiator or can i put it some where eles?

I wouldnt leave all the wires unhooked it could cause all sorts of malfunctions.And what is wrong with where it is mounted?

Well im bulidin a new bumper for it... i never likeed the box being up front... Just to me it looks like a bad spot to have it.
