having trouble getting my sportsman 500 in reverse need help thanks

 

Try adjusting the linkage rods, If I remember right , put it in nuetral, take the rods off and adjust so they fit into holes in tranny perfectly, the swivels must be straight and everything aligned pretty close to get it right.Make sure it's not Idling to high.
