I read in an earlier thread about putting on an 800 snorkel on a 700. Is there a specific year of the 800 that you are supposed to get? Do you need to get the sponge that goes around the snorkel also, and one last thing, is there anything else that will need to be modified when using this setup? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Pat

I used an 05, I think they all would work. Sponge, not needed, but may help from sucking in steam when quad is in deep water! No other issues to worry about!

Thanks Instigator...

Does the K&N filter make that much of a difference for the price?

I didn't notice any increase. I do like having the best filtration possible

remember to oil the K&N very frequently, never let it dry out. As soon as they dry out you midaswell have no filter on your machine. If you have any engine warranty work always put the stock filter back on. I don't know how many warranty claims for cars we have declined at my dealership for having an aftermarket filter on. The K&N have far superior filtration as long as they are good and oiled. Just food for thought.

why do you need a snorkel, io think water will go up the muffler b4 it will go into the airbox and stuff, or do you have a muffler extension too?

the 800's snorkel is larger, allowing more air into the engine, it's a performace upgrade, not an underwater device.
