Default Whats this new 800 Renegade all about? Polaris changes soon???

So I see Can Am now has this crossover Renegade 800. Has anyone ridden this thing and have an opinion on it compared to a Scrambler? Any details on it compared to the Scrambler?

Most importantly, will this motivate Polaris to finally go through the Scrambler and make some updates? Does anyone have any info on a Scrambler update for next year's lineup? I would imagine this Renegade is going to make sales slim for Polaris's Scrambler.

I haven't been on this ATV board in half a year, and have likely already missed all the "Gade vs. Scrambler" threads, so it's time for a new one! Searching didn't turn anything up.

IMO it's going to dominate everything for a few years.

I think the Renegade will be a awesome quad for the more aggressive trail rider who likes to tackle any terrian. It will be for XC racers, but at the same time will be able to hit all the mud holes with a good set of tires due to having low range. It will be too costly for some as it is about $3000 more then a Scrambler, but it would take more then that for a Scrambler to match it. But for many, the Scrambler will do fine. The Renegade as far as stock goes, is the only quad being made that is totally race ready right out of the box with nothing needed other then a tether. Many quads say there race ready, but many need tires and wheels right from the start. Polaris is the next closest as it only needs tires to be raced(Outlaw,Predator). So who will soak $9300 for a quad, well many will. Polaris 800 deluxe is over $9000 with a winch and a nice set of wheels. The BRP 800XT is over $9000 and the dealers can't keep them in stock and I think the Polaris deluxe will be the same as people now want quads where they don't need to add nothing. Just buy and ride. The new Grizz is $8000 but needs tires and wheels and suspension is still to soft. Add the goodies that are on a deluxe or XT and the Grizz is over $9000. So I think the Renegade will sell well and make plenty very happy. I'm first on my dealers list and can't wait to try it.

What is the MSRP on the Renegade?

More importantly, does anyone have any inside info on if Polaris is working on a revised Scrambler for the 2008 lineup? I'm a diehard Polaris man and ride their snowmobiles for fun and ride their ATV's for work and some play.

I'm really interested to hear on any info on an updated Scrambler to try and compete with the 'Gade.

Screw the Renegade, I'd get the Outlaw 525 (w/ the KTM motor), it has more power than a Raptor 700R. Better yet it has an independent rear suspension!

No offence (not trying to be rude at all, really) but this conversation isn't about the Outlaw. The Outlaw is nice, for play and thats it. I use my ATV for work and need 4x4 and an auto. The Renegade, Scrambler, Wolverine are what exactly fit my profile.

you kind of contradicted yourself since all 3 of the ATV's you listed still fall into the same catagory as the Outlaw. all 3 of them are in no way ment for work, none of htem have racks and they're all specific to the sport profile.

if you need a work quad with auto you need to be looking at a sportsman or a outlander, not a renegade or a scrambler.

Really? Then how do I have a rack on my Scrambler? The Outlaw is a pure play toy for sand and motocross where you can't get stuck.

The Scrambler and Renegade are in a completely different class, 4x4 so you can go where you need to, softer suspension, automatic, and a little easier to ride relaxed.

I am a rice farmer, and spend all day every day on my ATV during the summer months and have to have 4wd.

if you need a work quad with auto you need to be looking at a sportsman or a outlander, not a renegade or a scrambler.
I guess you missed my signature. I have an '07 SP 800 Stealth, '02 SP700, and a Grizzly. The Scrambler machine is right up my alley, it's easy to ride so it's less hard on me after riding 30hrs a week. Plus, it's still sporty enough, like you mentioned, that I can have a little bit of fun with it. The Outlaw is in no way the same catagory as the crossover ATV's, it's a pure racing type machine.

super. Scramblers and Renegades alike are still sport quads though, and your scrambler didnt come with that rack from the factory. for a rice farmer thats fairly ambitious to take a solid axle scrambler with a small rack out into your feilds. good luck with all your... riceing.
