Default Help required for Magnum 425 4x4 identification

Hi all,

I have recently acquired a Polaris Magnum 425 4x4, for which I want to buy the Haynes manual (there's currently no brakes, the engine stalls when you let go of the throttle, and the chain jumps, so a fair amount of TLC is required). Unfortunately I have no idea about the year of the ATV, so do not know which Haynes manual to buy. It has PVT on it, so I presume that the '1998 to 2003' manual is the correct one because it says 'gasoline PVT models'. The other Haynes manual is for '1985 to 1997' which also appears to cover the earlier Polaris Magnum 425 4x4 models. Did they make PVT models before 1998?

Any help and advice of which manual to buy would be much appreciated!!

Best regards,

Ian.

The 88-97 manual is the one you need. The 425 Magnum was made from 95-98 and changed very little between the years.BTW they are great machines but do require some maintanance.
