Clutch spring and K&N filter mod questions
#1
I just bought a AAEN green primary clutch spring, and a K&N filter for a total of $20.00 for my trailblazer from a previous trailblazer owner. Im going to install these myself of coarse, anything I should know or do? I have the instructions for the Clutch spring install.
My questions:
-What benifits will I see from the green primary clutch spring over the blue/green in her now?
-How are you guys mounting your K&N filters? Are you using the box, and pre-filter? Are you doing something custom right off the carb boot?? Lemme know, pics would be great, send em to wickedcustumz@hotmail.com if you can.
You guys have been great, if you ever have any questions regarding 4x4 or custom suspension modifications, diesel modifications, email me @ wickedcustumz@hotmail.com, I own a custom shop here in town.
Thanks again! -Jordan

First off the Aaen green spring is too much for a stock Trailblazer. If you dont have a aftermarket pipe all you need is a Polaris white or Polaris green primary spring. If you do run the Aaen green you will need at least 55gram weight more likely 58grams and that wont get you down into the rpm range of the stock pipe. There is more to these clutches than just a heavier spring and if you dont understand the basics you can ruin a motor in a hurry. Not to mention waist lots of cash for no or little power gain.
On the K&N get a replacement for the stock filter and run your airbox.
Actually your best bet would be to call Rick Ritter and get his stage1 kit and do it right.

its a green clutch spring, I would imagine it came from the same place he got his pipe.. AAEN.. If its not a AAEN is it still do-able? or should I wait to install this untill I get a pipe? -Jordan

I would wait until you get a pipe and then get a matching clutch kit.
If the K&N fits your airbox and you want to kit it and the spring I would trade you a Polaris white spring for the green. The with will work good with stock pipe.Give you a little more snap and a bit more on top but not get out of the pipes rpm range.
