X2 Polaris Wide Track
#1
Up until three months ago I was an avid dirt bike (motorcycle) rider for about 40 years. Bought an X2 after my last fall in a river on my Honda XR250R and retired from motorcycles. The transition has not been as easy as expected. The sensation of tipping over on my side is always present. I decided to widen the wheel track, but without spacers. I purchased flat mount tire valves and simply reversed the stock rims. Added 8 inches in the rear and 5 inches in the front. Added some fender flares to keep the mud off. Would be interested if anyone else has done this or if there is a reason it should not be done. I know it will increase bearing wear and keep me from getting thru 48" wide gates. Small price to pay. The feeling of increased stability is amazing.
