reading the book ,it seems that doing an oil change is a pain in the but. it talks about pinching a tube,running it for ten min..
seems like a pain.
is it?

 

We did it on my brother-in-laws(06 500efi) and it was ok... not too bad. Yea the whole process is kinda long but after the first one, we just do the change without taking the hose off. There is a metal screen in there that is suposed to catch debris but it was really clean, and then u have to re lock-tite it and pinch the vent line and all that. I only do that every other change now. Still better than having the dealer rip u off.. IMO

 

on my 500 scrambler the screen was also brand spanking clean even after first oil change with absolutely no burrs, chips or any type of debris at the scrren filter. ive changed the oil twice and have removed the screen twice, the screen stays clean. and yess i have purged the air from the oil line. like what super deuche says, every other oil change an inspection of the screen is wise or maybe even at 4 oil changes. who knows...................
