Default Charging system

I have a 2003 500 sportsman HO. I recently noticed the battery icon is flashing on the speedometer. I ran the system through the diagnostic check and the battery only shows about 11 volts. I charged the battery but the flashing icon on the speedo is still flashing. The machine runs fine, is there any chance the charging system went south? The machine only has 700 miles on it.

Thanks

11V is low for a battery. If you have a voltmeter should be over 12.5. Over 14 in machine & running at least 3500 rpms. If put charger on & still only 11 volts likely battery not able to take charge.

I appreciate your response, I just bought the machine and there is no telling how old the battery is. I will definately do a voltage check and then replace the battery.

Thanks again...

You can have a load test run on that battery, and that will confirm whether or not its junk. Most all auto parts stores wll do the load test for free.
