I have a 2003 ranger, under the hood there is the master cyl. radiator , and a small clear tank with a red cap on it,
it has some kind of clear oil in it and it is low. can you tell me what this is. I don't have a book on it yet.

if thats the rad. relief tank, then it shouldnt have clear liquid unless you used straight water.it should be green color (antifreeze) if its stock. it should have a low and high marks on it for the level and have a insert under the cap in it.

Just don't fill it to the max mark. I do mine about half way. That is where it should be to allow coolent to come in if needed.
