Another way to get the bearing on is to freeze the balncer an heat up the bearing in a pan or toaster oven this alos helps becare full the bearing wil be hot. Seen this done on one of the car shows on Spike tv for putting a pressed on bearing

i went to partsland.com under atv and all they show in there parts blow up is the whole balancer that cost $395.the bearing in the front case i believe is the same as the counter balance large bearing.the part # for this bearing is 3084131 you can go to this site and get part numbers and exploded views of all year polaris bikes.

This is not correct , the large balancer bearing is not the same as any of the other bearings in the engine .

One thing I noticed on the mating gear(Crankshaft gear) to the countershaft gear . The gear has been rusted and I can't see the mark on the gear . While facing the outside face of the gear , where abouts is the mark in relation to the keyway ?
Thanks,
D.

i noticed that too on the 400 explorer.the mark was on the back side of the gear.i took it off and put a mark on the front to match that of the back.this gear goes on only one way do to the keyway.
